The first time I heard this song.. I was sold..
Football has quickly become something very important in my life. I spent years not really paying attention to it, yeah I sat in the stands from time to time.. I knew a few guys who played, but it really never meant anything to me.. In high school it was just something I did on Friday nights, mostly because everyone else did or because my sister was a cheerleader.. or because I was a social butterfly and had to be where the action was..
In early college I was more concerned with the tailgates and the social aspect of the game, rather than the game itself and its sad.. because I missed some of the best Javelina football, sitting under a tent at tailgate drinking beer rather than going into the game.. (big regret)
but..
In the last 3+ years football has become a way of life. I plan most everything around it, most of my "vacation" days are used traveling to games, almost all of my Saturdays and Fridays are used up during the fall.. sitting in the stands.. or those that know me can say.. standing in the stands.. All of my clothing is blue.. my classroom is decorated with footballs.. I keep the schedules up next to my desk... relationships are put on hold.. life is put on hold ..
I wont lie.. I love the game.. and I don't mind any of the above
Nothing warms my heart more than sitting around a table with some of the best football players I know.. hearing the stories.. the remember when's and the belly laughs... Football is or was the best time of their lives.. some are still playing, while others are now working men and a few are even now football coaches.. giving back what was once given to them.. either way the sacrifice returns the reward.. the memories..

I will forever be thankful for this game.. It changed my life...
Football is responsible for some of the best friendships I have, the best relationship I ever had and for the best memories I will ever have....
I look forward to the Friday and Saturday nights...
